    meet mr and mrs "published"....

    although we are in a season of a lot of transition, we are also experiencing a lot of exciting things! the most interesting things on our radar right now-getting published!

    becky was just notified today that an article she had submitted to the illinois law enforcement journal will be published this july!!! it is entitled "responding empathetically to children and adolescents victims of domestic violence". so excited!!!! this will be the first publication for mrs clark.

    derek has also been offered the opportunity to get research he has been doing with a professor published-we'll know more about this possibility towards the end of the summer. the research he has done with this prof has led him to be involved in the wiu undergraduate research day next week. his abstract for his research entitled "a comparison of the spatial accuracies for three grades of gps recievers" is listed on the wiu website at: http://www.wiu.edu/honors/researchday/posters.php (about a third of the way down the page).
    he also is going on another research trip in august with a prof that will likely result in a publication about cave related geology.

    so, we may not be preggers yet, but we are birthing academic babies-otherwise known as research and publications. :) next stop...moving, starting grad school, new job, etc etc.

    so xanga seems totally dead (thus the reason we never post here anymore-only on fb). but, for posterity sake, here are some of our fav pics from the last few months......

    eventually, we will prob let go of this site. but not blogging completely ofcourse-especially once we begin having kiddies. the fam will want blog type updates. is a totally different website in our families future? possibly....only time will tell.
    in the meantime the moral of the story is that we love our fam/life/our beautiful future full of change-beginning this summer that it.

    HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY DEBORAH!!!!
    here are some pictures from our sisters birthday from last night (plus deb's bff arielle). we "kidnapped" her and took her to a hotel for her birthday. she got to pick where we went for dinner and the movie we saw. then we hung out at the hotel room. it was a lot of fun but mostly we are amazed that she is 18.
